John J. Calamita, 74, of Sunny Hills, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born in Erie, PA, and had lived in Bay and Washington Counties for the last 20 years, moving here from Texas. John retired as MSGT after 22 years in the US Air Force. He was a parishioner at St. Teresa Catholic Church, and was the Faithful Navigator, District Warden, and Council Trustee of KOC # 3035, Chipley, FL.

Bishop Estevez, along with the Reverend James Boddie of St Catherine of Siena and Deacon Larry Peterson presided at the Bishop’s Scout Recognition Ceremony in which over 100 Boy and Girl Scouts received religious medals to include the Light of Christ, Family of God, Parvuli Dei, I Live My Faith, Ad Altare Dei, Mary the First Disciple, and Pope Pius XI awards.
