Trunk or Treat - October 27 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Prince of Peace
Our Assistant Director of Discipleship (and new Council Brother) Tom Silliker is requesting our help with the Parish "Trunk or Treat" on Sunday
October 27th from 5:00-8:30 p.m. He is asking the Knights help with parking and with games/activities supervision as well as looking for some
Knights to do a "Trunk" handing out candy, talking to parishioners and possibly recruiting a dad or two. If you can't make this Sunday event, please
consider donating candy for the "Trunkers" to distribute. Can you help?

Our October workday (last Wednesday) for Habitat was a great success as we began work on a new construction house in DeBary. Four of our regular
work team members (PGK Jay Young, Trustee Russell Benett, SK Jose Vigara and GK Mark Leary) installed roof decking and did some interior garage
painting at 18 Lake Dr. This was our second house for roof decking installation and we definitely had the hang of it. As our Foreman put it, "you guys
did three times the amount of work that our Saturday crew did on the same job and they had 15 volunteers". In addition to our regular contributors we
assisted by fellow parishioner Ms. Susan Jenkins, who not only helped with the painting, but also brought cookies which significantly increased our
sugar levels and likely contributed to the amount of work completed. Not only that, but the 40 minute commute was a lot of fun thanks to SK Russell
Benett agreeing to drive all 4 Knights and the stories told (mostly true) during the ride. This solid workday moved us from slightly below the curve in
Fraternal Hours donated this year (47.6 vice 50 hours required per quarter for Featured Program status last quarter) to 70.1 hours contributed by the
end of our workday at 1:00 p.m (66.6 hours goal by end of October). Finally, if that wasn't enough support of Habitat, PGK John McCarthy and his wife
Pat, PGK Jay Young and GK Leary attended the House Dedication for our last work site at 740 Santa Fe Ave. in Ormond Beach, where homeowner Ms.
Julie Sutton and her children received the ceremonial keys to their new home, in a great neighborhood. We have room for more volunteers.
Contact Mark Leary at 236-8098 or email@example.com for a Volunteer Application.
