Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Assembly 2823 holds Blessing of the Fleet

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Milton Flotilla 01-08, "Guardians of the Blackwater”, participated in a blessing of the Fleet that took place along the Blackwater River. The Blessing was given by Monsignor Steven Bosso, Faithful Chaplain of Blessed Theresa of Calcutta Assembly 2823 and Pastor of St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church. Monsignor Bosso, accompanied by an Honor Guard from Assembly 2823, prayed over vessels presented to him at the start of Safe Boating Week.

The Blessing of The Fleet is a time honored tradition, started during medieval times, to pray for the financial success of all commercial voyages. Today, it is now additionally used to pray for continued safety for our military called to serve afloat as well as also blessing all pleasure craft, crew and their passengers.
