Bishop Verot Council 5845, hosted a private showing of the movie “Unplanned” during opening weekend and arranged an additional 4 private showings. On Sunday, March 31st, Knights along with the Holy Name of Jesus Young Adults Ministry filled the 120 seat theater. Since it was a fifth Sunday, the entire group prayed the Rosary in the theater following the movie. The Rosary was led by a combination of Knights and Young Adults. Our Pastor and fourth degree Knight, Fr. Scott Circe attended and led a prayer for the unborn. Donations of more than $400 were collected and sent to “40 Days for Life” to continue their great work.
Tickets for the four additional showings were distributed to neighboring councils, the local Pregnancy Center, parishioners and even to some of the local pro-life brothers of other faiths. In total, more than 650 tickets were provided at no charge in the Melbourne Community for private showing through the first 2 weeks of release. BK Gerard Close donated the funds to secure over 600 tickets.
Nearly 100 tickets were provide to the local Divine Mercy Radio Station in Melbourne Florida as donor giveaways.
Next week, Bishop Verot Council will be hosting a group of 40 high school students and their parents for an additional showing of the movie.
