St. John XXIII Council 14390 in Miramar prepares the Boxes of Joy for delivery to the children of South America.
On December 14, 2024, St. John XXIII Council 14390 members and the wife of Miramar, FL, joined forces with Knights on Bikes and Mother of Our Redeemer Council 17477 members in preparing the Boxes of Joy in their warehouse in Kendall for distribution to the children of South America. They cleaned dirty boxes before screening them and adding a storybook and a rosary. We gathered at St. John XXIII Catholic Church that Saturday, attended the 8 am mass, and had coffee together before heading to the warehouse headed by the Knights on Bikes.
The experience was life-changing, and we are looking forward to doing this again next year. We have also committed to supporting their cause. Alejandra, wife of SK Tom Jicks of Council 14390, said that she will promote this program and have the wives join them next time.
