Patrick Harris, Grand Knight of Father Lopez Council 5737, presented Principal Sue Conza of Morning Star Catholic School in Pinellas Park, Fla. with a $8,000 check on May 15.
Morning Star Catholic School of Pinellas Park (MSSPP), a mission of the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg, recognizes the unique educational needs of students. MSSPP is dedicated to helping our students develop into educated, well-rounded, productive and successful members of society. It offers a caring, Christian learning environment where kids are able to succeed. Children with special education requirements need more care and attention than is often offered in a traditional school setting. These students necessitate individualized instruction from caring professionals who are trained to understand and meet each student’s unique needs.
Father Lopez Council used to hold an annual Las Vagas Night in support of MSSPP, but the pandemic and other factors have prevented this. Fortunately, the success of weekly Bingos has allowed the Council to provide the donation which covers many back payments.
